The mad mage Relvinian experimented with this spell further to see if the tyranny could be extended so that Daemons would be forced into performing the menial tasks of human existance.
This ended catastrophically when the Daemons revolted, killing many and forcing Relvinian to flee into exile. Many believe he fled to the Hedge Maze which had magically appeared near Skara Brae.
Recently, an unknown mage has taken up Relvinian's studies.
The Mages of Wind nearly discovered his experiments. To preserve the secrecy of his work, he sacrificed one of the Daemons he was working with by capturing him and turning him over to the mages, who then sent him to Skara Brae for safe keeping and observation
These Mages, sitting safely in their marbled city, have put us all in great danger. The brother of this Daemon, Kryst'jyr'alin, has threatened to seek revenge and free his brother Uggtocuctc.
Alas, dear citizens, he has made good on his threat and sent many evil minions to dispatch the humans of Skara Brae and free Ugg. Many great warriors were lost in that battle.
We, the members of the Daemon Liberation Front demand that Ugg be set free to rejoin his kin.
Are we not a civilized society?
It is bad enough that we hunt Daemons for fun and profit but now we force one to sit, day after day, enslaved in magical chains.
Force him to listen as we drone on and on about his race and how we can't wait to test our steel against them.
Daemons are meant to be free, not caged up like animals for our amusement.
Daemons are sentient beings capable of thought and reason, albeit they do have a limited vocabulary.
We currently have a man in the field, studying them. We have not yet heard from him but it may be too risky right now for him to activate his communication crystal.
